Professor Dipak K. Midya is a Social Cultural Anthropologist working at the Department of Anthropology, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, India. He did his M.Sc. from the University of Calcutta (1992) and Ph.D. from Vidyasagar University (2007). He was a JRF & SRF (UGC-NET) at the Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta. He did his Post-Doctoral Associateship at the IIAS, Shimla. His research areas include ethnicity, tribal problems, insurgency violence, Development Anthropology, Muslim study, research methodology and anthropological theories. He conducted ethnographic research among the Ho, Lodha and Santal and Bhumij communities.
