Prof. M. P. Sachdeva

Professor M.P. Sachdeva is currently the Chair of the Department of Anthropology, University of Delhi. He had has Master’s and Ph.D. degree form Panjab University, Chandigarh. He was awarded the Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs Fellowship for pursuing his Ph.D. work. He started his career as a Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, DU in the year 1986 and then became a Reader in the same Department in the year 1998. He has been serving as a Professor in the same department since 2004. He was nominated by UGC as SAP Advisory Committee Member of the Department of Anthropology, Dibrugarh University. His areas of interest in research are: Ethnic and Cultural Diversity in India, Genomic Epidemiology, Forensic Anthropology, Human Evolution, Molecular Anthropology, Human Population Genetics, Haemogenetics. As many as 21 scholars have received their doctoral degree working under the supervision of Professor Sachdeva. He has more than 130 research articles published in edited volumes and journals of national and international repute.
