Prof. S. Gregory

Professor S Gregory, Former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Chairperson, Department of Anthropology, Kannur University, did his M.A. and M.Phil. from Poona and Madras Universities respectively, and PhD at ISEC, Bangalore, under IDS, Mysore University. He retired as Director, School of Distance Education with additional charge as Director, HRDC, Kannur University. Recipient of Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Lecturer Fellowship in 2011-12, he taught at the University of Chicago, during Spring Semester 2012. During the same period, he was awarded two Occasional Lecture Funds from IIE, CIES, Washington DC to Visit/Deliver Lectures in US Universities/Minority Institutes. He had visited several US Universities including George Washington University, California State University, Los Angeles, Boston University, Rutgers University and University of South Florida, and delivered Lectures. He had organized a Panel discussion at the 17th World Congress of IUAES at University of Manchester, in 2013. He had Organised several Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, and Panel Discussions including the 10th INCAA Anthropology Congress 2013. He has more than 60 publications including 5 books. His main areas of interest include Sustainable Development, Participatory Research and Decentralized Planning.
